Abstract:
This article discusses the iterative methods derived by homotopy perturbation
method to solve a nonlinear equation. Analytically using Taylor expansion and
geometric series it is shown that the iterative methods have an order of convergence
four and five. Numerical computations using four test functions show that one of
the iterative methods is better than other discussed methods in terms of the number
of iterations required to obtain the approximate root of the nonlinear equations.
