Abstract:
The research aims to determine the potential of Rhizobium on the former rice field to increase growth and soybean production. The research was conducted on the former rice field at Meunasah Alue Muara Dua Lhokseumawe, NAD province, from March until July 2011. The research method used was Randomized Block Design factorial pattern of two factors and three replications. The first factor was consisted three treatments on Rhizobium, namely: Without Rhizobium, Rhizobium Indigenous, and Rhizobium Introductions. The second factor was composed of nitrogen (N), namely: Without giving N, giving N 25 kg/ha, giving N 50 kg/ha. The results showed that Rhizobium been able to increasing the production dry weight of seed planting, dry weight of seed per plot and weight of 100 seeds which the dry seed weight and highest weight of 100 seeds obtained from the application of indigenous Rhizobium. Nitrogen application increased doses of growth, althought statistic showed that was not significant as for the increased production of nitrogen application provide a great influence for the number of seeds per plot, dry seed weight per plant and dry seed weight per plot reached the highest dose of nitrogen aplication of 25 kg/ha.
