MULTIPLIKASI TUNAS IN VITRO DARI EKSPLAN NODUS JERUK SIAM (Citrus nobilis LOUR.) ASAL KAMPAR DENGAN PENAMBAHAN BENZYLAMINOPURINE (BAP) DAN EKSTRAK MALT

Abstract

Citrus nobilis Lour. from Kampar is a famous citrus plant in Riau province, that is highly demanded by many people in Riau. However, the plantation area of citrus decrease due to disease attack. In order to recover this condition, it is necessary to provide citrus seedlings in large quantities. The conventional propagation requires a lot of plants and takes a long time, therefore the in vitro propagation is necessary. This study aimed to find the effects and to determine best concentration BAP alone or in combination with malt extract to shoot multiplication nodal explants in vitro Citrus nobilis Lour. This experiment was designed using a randomized block design (RBD). The treatment was giving BAP alone or in combination with malt extract. The results showed that the best treatment for shoot multiplication was in MS medium suplemented with 0.5 mg / l BAP that produced the highest number of shoots (5 shoots per explant) with number of leaves was (2 leaves per eksplan). Supply malt extract was not goot to increase number of shoot.
