Abstract:
This study aims to find out totally about promotion strategies of Art and Culture, Tourism Department of Kabupaten Karimun, especialy sub department promotion and Attraction, Riau Archipalago Province in order to develop tourism objects, and to find how the supporting and the hindrance jactors of promotions stretegies. This research applied discriptive and qualitative method with informan determined by purposive. This resarch show that promotion strategies Art and Culture, Tourism Department of Kabupaten Karimun was done according to the mission of the governance of Kabupaten Karimun which was develop and promote tourism objects in order to rise up tourists whether local, national and internasional sharply. The promotion strategies are event marketing, publicity, media relation and word of mouth marketing. Applying of this strategies are not maximal, caused by fund which is not adequate and less human resource have compotence to do it The supporting factors of applying promotion strategi’s is the coordination and well relations between governance and public institutions such as travel agent, restaurants, and hotelss. The supporting media are newspapers, electronik media such as Semenanjung Televisi (STV), and local radio. The others are booklet, leaflet, benner, benner, face to face communication by doing expo and exhibitions.
