Analisis Usaha Kerajinan Rotan Di Kecamatan Rumbai Kota Pekanbaru

Abstract

Rumbai is one of the districts in the Capital District Pekanbaru which has considerable potential, strategic location traversed land and sea transportation support small business development. One small business that is developing in District Rumbai is the rattan handicraft business is a small industry that is traditional and is a family business. This study aimed to determine the profile of rattan business development and the constraints faced by rattan entrepreneurs in District Rumbai. The population in this study is the rattan business in District Rumbai comprised of 23 businesses. The method used in this study using census and data collection techniques is the observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Profile rattan handicraft business development in Rumbai is: 1) the type of goods produced household furniture and woven goods; 2) Rattan is used as a raw material is rattan that has become semi-finished goods from the factory through the process; 3) the initial capital of entrepreneurs is low rattan is between Rp. 3,000,000 - Rp. 8,000,000; 4) The labor used tend to stem from family members; 5) Marketing entrepreneur rattan mostly concentrated on local markets that utilize market Pekanbaru City is a provincial capital; 6) Income per month throughout the rattan business units in the District Rumbai Pekanbaru City is Rp. 154,185,375 while the average income per month rattan entrepreneurs in the amount of Rp. 6,703,712. Constraints in rattan business in the District Rumbai is limited capital, limited marketing products, difficulties in obtaining raw materials and the arrangement of the place of business.
