Abstract:
Background problems in this research is that the students learning outcomes is still low. The research
in the form of classroom action research with the grade IVC student as the subjects. Learning material
is integers for school year 2012/2013. The purpose of this research is to improve student learning
outcomes in math class IVC SD Negeri 17 Pekanbaru by implementing cooperative learning model
Think Pair Share (TPS). The type of data is quantitative data. Formulation of the problemin this
research "Is Cooperative Learning Model type Think Pair Share can Improve Learning Outcomes
Math students of SD Negeri 17 Pekanbaru?". This research consists of three cycles. The observation
result of teachers activity in the first cycle is 66.25% (good) then increased to 81.25% (very good) of
the increased 15% then the result increases again to 93.75% (very good) of the increase of 12.5 %.
While the activity of the percentage of students in the first cycle was 63.75% (good) increase to
78.75% (good) 15% of the increase to 91.25% (very good) of the increase is 12.5%. Based on the data
analysis and discussion of the study, the average student learning outcomes increased from baseline
score increased in 60.81 increased to UAS I 72.50 became great increase 11.69 points (19.22%) in the
UAS II increased to 76.25 of the increase 3.75 points (5.17%) on UAS III increased to 80 large
increase of 3.75 points (4.92%). Classical learning outcomes on the basis of scores that reached KKM
43.75% in the first cycle increased to 68.75% of the 25% increase in the second cycle increased to
84.37% of the 15.62% increase in third cycle and increased again to 90.62% of the increase of 6.25%.
From the result concluded that the application of Cooperative Learning Model type Think Pair Share
(TPS) can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes IVC class of SD Negeri 17 Pekanbaru.
