Abstract:
This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes by
implementing Cooperative Learning model Student Team Achievement Division
(STAD) in class IV SD Negeri 019 Muara Uwai. In the first semester of academic
year 2012/2013. This study uses classroom action research. the subject studied
were student of class IV SD Negeri 019 Muara Uwai with the 30 people
consisting of students, 9 male students and 21 female students, with academic and
social heterogeneous. Implementation phase of this study consisted of planning,
action, observation, reflection. conducted in two cycles, six meetings and two
quizzes. The activity student and teachers learning outcomes data were gained by
collecting activity data by using observation sheets, and test. Analysis of the data
used descriptive analysis that describes the activities of teachers and students,
analysis of the results of learning mathematics. The results from the first cycle
found that the percentage and number of students who achieve mastery minimum
criteria (≥ 65) is 16 students with a percentage of 53.3% and the second cycle is
18 students with a percentage of 60% increase from the previous size of 13
students with a percentage of 43.3 %. The conclusions of this study indicate that
cooperative learning model type of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD)
can improve student mathematic learning outcomes
