Abstract:
Nowadays, Saturation and boredom have become the issue for the students in
learning, it makes class be strain and learning is not effective. Giving icebreaker can
be done by teacher to make an interesting learning and not boring for students. The
purpose of this study is to know the increase of Physics learning result through the
applying of icebreaker conventionally on class X Babussalam Senior High School
Pekanbaru in the period of even academic year 2012/2013 on heat transfer and asas
back material. This study is done by using research design of intact group
comparative design. The population is all students of class X Babussalam Senior High
School Pekanbaru, the sample of this study is the students on class X

as the
experiment class and the students on class X
1 as the control class. The result of
descriptive analysis is for the class where using icebreaker gets visibility 72 ,22%
with good category and the effectiveness of learning is also in good category. The
completeness of learning is 58,33% and the completeness of the purpose of learning
is 61,54% with the incomplete category. Based of inferential analysis through t
test,tcount= 2,516 and ttable
= 2,030. Based on the hypothesis test criteria t
count > ttable
or
(2,516 > 2,030), so that, there is significant difference between the result of students’
Physics learning after using icebreaker and the result of students’ physics learning
conventionally at 95% confidence level.
