Abstract:
Research on the application of cooperative learning model Numbered Head
Together (NHT) has been conducted to determine the increase in student
achievement on the subject of the buffer solution in class XI Science SMAN 6
Pekanbaru. Research is a form of experimental research with pretest-posttest
design. Time of data collection was done between March 25 to 11 April 2013. The
sample consisted of two classes, namely class XI IPA2 as the experimental class
and the class as a class XI IPA3 controls randomly selected after tests of
normality and homogeneity. Applied experimental class cooperative learning
model NHT, while the applied control class lecture. Data analysis technique used
is the t-test. Based on analysis of data obtained t > t table ie 4.6496 > 1.6690
means that the application of cooperative learning model NHT can improve
student achievement. Increase student achievement, including high category with
a score gain normalized (N-gain) of 0.7133
