Abstract:
Learning of mathematics teachers in SD Negeri 002 Kuapan use
conventional learning model, consequently during the learning process of students
just listen to what the teachers. So, students become passive in the learning. The
interaction that occurs between teachers and students, students with students still
less visible because the students just listen and then record is conveyed by teacher.
Based on these problem, teachers take action to implement cooperative learning
model Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type. This research aims to
improve student’s mathematics learning outcomes by implementing cooperative
learning model of STAD in class III SD Negeri 002 Kuapan, Sub Di strict of
Tambang, in odd semester of academic years 2012/2013. This study uses
classroom action research. The subject studied were students of class III SD
Negeri 002 Kuapan with the number 20 people consisting of 10 male students and
10 female students are heterogeneous in terms of academic and gender. It was
conducted in two cycles. Data were gained by using observation sheet and daily
test. Analysis of the data used descriptive statistical analysis that describes the
activities of the teacher and students, analysis of learning outcomes and successful
measurements. The result of the first cycle found that the percentage of student
who achieve mastery minimum criteria was 60% and the second cycle was 85%,
which increased the percentage of the previous measures only 50%. The
conclusion of this study indicate that cooperative learning model of STAD type
can improve student’s mathematic learning outcomes.
