Abstract:
This study aims to improve learning outcomes in teaching and learning
process at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru by implementing cooperative
learning model of Think Pair Square in mathematics lesson. Forms of research is
collaborative action research. This study was conducted in two cycles. Research
procedures were carried out in a class action including planning, implementation,
observation and reflection. The result from first cycle found that the percentage of
students who achieve minimum achievement criteria (MMC) was gained from
53,12 % to 71,87%. On the second test, the percentage of students who achieve
MMC is 84,38%. Model study of which can make student more active also more
skillful in developing efficiency communicate and also give oppotunity student
for thinking alone later then share with is other, teaching and also taugh by
student humanity becoming important shares in course of learning and continual
social. The conclusion of this study show once applied cooperative learning TPS
increase student participation in the classroom resulted in increased student
learning outcomes in math class TKJ1 SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru
