dc.description.abstract |
This research describes the role of PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) as nongovernmental
organization in assisting Nepalese government in the recovery and
development of Nepal’s tourism sector. Tourism has been the major source of revenue in
Nepal. However, the decade-long conflict by the Maoist with the aim of transforming the
socio-economic and political structures of Nepal, became a turning point that shattered the
tourist destination image of Nepal. This research applies qualitative research method. Data
in this research is taken from books, journals, internet, media, and other references. This
research also uses pluralist perspective, NGOs role theory and non-governmental
organization concept. The result from this research founds that PATA acted as a partner of
Nepalese government for the responsible post-conflict development of the travel and tourism
industry in Nepal. PATA help Nepal to remain in focus of Tourism World and maintain as
leader in adventure travel. |
