KEBIJAKAN INDONESIA MASUK KEANGGOTAAN IOTC (INDIAN OCEAN TUNA COMMISSION) TAHUN 2007-2011

Abstract

(Indian Ocean Tuna Commission) membership. A policy base on the national interest of Indonesia, one of which is agenda RPJMN (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional) about revitalization fisheries program. That focuses on three major commodity. One of which is tuna fisheries. The problem in this research base on IOTC organization, that uses tools such as methodes of trade related measures. This methode is used as an act for force action the sustainability of tuna fishing fisheries. The area competitives IOTC is Indian Ocean. Using trade related measures on the IOTC, it’s can damage Indonesian economic due to Indonesian as cooperating non-member in the IOTC. Indonesia in 2004-2006 received embargo from one of the member of IOTC, that is Japan. Japan which is main market for Indonesia’s tuna fisheries. This research will explain Indonesia’s policy to raise the status of cooperating nonmember become full member and policy changes in the country after officially become a full member.
