GAMBARAN DIATOM PADA SUNGAI KAMPAR KAWASAN PASAR RUMBIO SEBAGAI PENUNJANG DIAGNOSIS INDENTIFIKASI LOKASI KORBAN MATI TENGGELAM

Abstract

Diatom Examination are important tests in the case of drowning victims. Diatoms are one of the intravital signs, which marks the victim was still alive when entering the water. The uselfulness of diatom examination is looking for the presence or absence of diatoms in the lungs the body and comparing it with the kind of diatomaceous in water (if the diatoms found in the body). If the same type of diatom is found, it can be concluded that the drowning victim is dead due to drowning in the waters. This research is a descriptive study aimed to determine the form, type, and abundance of diatoms Kampar River at Rumbio Market District. Samples were taken at three different stations. Sampling stations were divided into three sub-sampling points (left side, middle and right site of the river). Diatoms are found 10 species are : Asterionella sp, Cocconeus sp, Gyrosigma sp, Melosira sp, Nitzschia sp, Eucampia sp, Isthmia sp, Aulacoceita sp, Diatome sp, dan Rhizosolenia sp. Total diatom abundance found as many as 7981 cells/L, with the diatom Nitzschia sp as having the highest abundance of these waters is 1647 cells/L.
