dc.description.abstract Health is a major factor and the empowerment of individuals and communities is closely related to human resources. In such conditions it is popping up various offers in the community for health such as taking vitamins, herbal remedies, exercise, and various alternative treatments. One of the alternative treatment is a healthy massage parlors traditional massage as an option and similar massage parlors mushrooming in cities. Mushrooming massage parlors traditionally require human resources to do the job, this requirement can be met by labor-hire workers who come from the countryside. Urban also the emergence of various service jobs that do not use or require expertise and skill certified, one of which is the masseuse in the parlor massage parlor, this shows the traditional alternative medicine eksistence middles of modern medicine. The phenomenon of emergence of traditional massage parlors in Indonesia also appeared in the city of Pekanbaru. The problem in this study are: a) How does the existence of a traditional massage parlor in the city of Pekanbaru?, b) what factors are causing traditional massage parlors violated Operational permits that have been owned? The purpose of this study was to describe the existence of the city of Pekanbaru Traditional Therapeutic Massage focuses ontraditional massage parlors that have a business license from the City of Pekanbaru. The results showed that the majority of entrepreneurs and traditional Massage parlor masseuse came from outside the city of Pekanbaru is derived from West Java, East Java, Semarang, Sukabumi and Medan. Ten Traditional Massage parlors that have this license to operate about 4 years ago. Traditional massage parlors in violation of license that has been held due to the cost of rental shop and rent tax so that some of the traditional massage parlor is looking for ways to stay afloat in the massage parlor business. From the results of research in the field discovered four traditional Massage parlors disguised prostitution activities. And two masseuse working as commercial sex workers in the localization Teleju that have been disbanded in 2010 ago before eventually turned professional as a masseuse at Massage parlors traditional. The discovery of the traditional Massage parlors that provide services plus this is one of the effects of the closure in 2010 Localization Teleju ago. en_US
