Abstract:
This research aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) type in class IVA SDN 009 Langkan, Langgam Sub District, District of Pelalawan, in the even semester of the academic year 2011/2012. This study uses action research. The subjects studied were students of class IVA SDN 009 Langkan with the number of 30 people consisting of 16 male students and 14 female students. It was conducted in two cycles. The activity and students learning outcomes data were gained by collecting activity data by using observation sheet and daily test. Analysis of the data used is descriptive statistical analysis that describes the activities of teacher and students, analysis of learning outcomes and succesful measurements. In the first cycle, there are three groups earn great rewards (groups C, E and F) and three other award-winning super group (Group A, B and D). For the second cycle, the entire group was awarded a super group. The results of the first cycle found that the percentage of students who achieve mastery Minimum criteria (≥ 60) was 73.33% and the second cycle was 96.67%, which increased the percentage of the previous measures only 46.67%. The conclusion of this study indicate that cooperative learning model model type Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes.
