Transportation Service Demand Analysis in Supporting Commerce Sector In Indragiri Hulu District

Abstract

This research is held in Indragiri Hulu District which is aimed to know the factors that effect the demand of transporation service to support the commerce sector in Indragiri Hulu District. Descriptive analysis method and likert scale analysis is used to cultivate this research before giving the conclusion. The sample of these research are service suppliers and user of transportation service. The service suppliers are the driver of transportation service and the user of the transportation service are the society of 14 subdistricts in Indragiri Hulu district, where the respondents are 70 peoples for each sample. The result of this research shows that street condition, the value of the vehicle, and cost are the factors that effect the demand of transportation service in supporting the commerce sector in Indragiri Hulu District. Instead the government attention is really need as the point of view of infrastructure development especially street condition and cost standard in Indragiri Hulu District.
