Abstract:
This study is an action research (classroom action research), which aims to improve and enhance the learning process that leads to improved math learning outcomes. Implementation of the research done in class IV MI Al Jamiyatul Washliyah Bagansiapiapi semester academic year 2011/2012 on the basis of competence in solving problems using fractions. study subjects were fourth grade students Aljamiyatul Washliyah Bagansiapiapi MI, the number of students 23 people consisting of 10 male students and 13 female students. The research was conducted in the second cycle, each cycle conducted three meetings and one-time daily tests. Kuantitaf data obtained through testing for learning outcomes and qualitative data about the activities of teachers and students through the observation sheet. The results of quantitative analysis showed that the application of the model type STAD cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes, it is shown in the number of students who achieve mastery Minimum Criteria (KKM) 60 on the basis of a score of 17 students (73.91%), increased in the first cycle to 19 students (82.60%), and increased again in the second cycle to 20 students (86.95%). From the research that has been done, it can be concluded with the implementation of cooperative learning model type STAD the standard of competence using fractions in problem solving can improve the results of fourth grade students learn math MI Aljamiyatul Washliyah Bagansiapiapi.
