Abstract:
Research carried out on with the police at Sector Police Station of Bukit Raya
Pekanbaru, a view to knowing competence variables influence of Competence and
Motivation on the Performance of the police at Sector Police Station of Bukit Raya
Pekanbaru, and to determine the most dominant influence on the performance of the
members.
Determining the sample size was conducted by Slovin then selected a sample of 50
people as respondents, while samples was done by using Cluster and accidental
sampling. Techniques of data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis and
multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 16.00 that includes multiple correlation
coefficient (R), coefficient of determination (R square), f test and t test. Based on the
responses of respondents and data processing on the average performance of members,
competence and motivation category quite well. Testing the hypothesis either simultan
eously or partially contained a significant influence on the performance of 70.05. Big

of 0.749, coefficient of 11.67 competence and motivation coefficient of 3.04
With regard to the two (2) independent variables the competence and motivation,
then the police station should pay attention to the indicators in order to improve the
performance of the members, then also let those police officer sevaluated consistently
positive for a program that is working well in the long shortand long term, as well as
considering other factors to improve the police performance.
