Abstract:
Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura are parts of Soil Transmitted Helminths. Infestation due to these worms still become a public health problem in Indonesia especially in elementary student school. One of Ascaris lumbricoides (A. lumbricoides) and Trichuris trichiura (T. trichiura) infestation factor is a bad nails hygiene. This research aimed to determine the relationship between nails hygiene with A. lumbricoides and T. trichiura infestation on the Student’s class I,II and III SD Negeri 40 Meranti Pandak Kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir Pekanbaru. This research use method an analytical cross sectional study in 70 respondents. To see the relationship between nails hygiene of the A. lumbricoides and T. trichiura infestation assessed with chi square test to test alternatives Fisher. From the data analysis there is no significant relationship between nails hygiene with A. lumbricoides and T. trichiura infestation (p value = 0,241).
