PENGGUNAAN PENCAK SILAT DALAM DIPLOMASI KEBUDAYAAN INDONESIA TERHADAP BELANDA TAHUN 2005-2012

Abstract

Abstract This research focuses on cultural diplomacy efforts of Indonesia to the Netherlands by using Pencak Silat (martial art from Indonesia) .Cultural diplomacy efforts by Indonesia aims to build a positive image of Indonesia which further enhance the understanding and confidence in Indonesia in the Netherlands. Target cultural diplomacy is Dutch society especially the younger generation Netherlands. Measures are applied to anticipate long-term changes in the demographic structure of Dutch society is naturally a reduction of the Dutch population older generation (Indo-Belanda)of aging and death. Pencak silat to support the use of cultural diplomacy Indonesia to the Netherlands in addition to using other traditional arts Pencak Silat due to cultural penetration in the Netherlands. Penetration is applied through sports diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and the diplomacy of art and education. PERSILAT existence as an international sport federation Pencak Silat helping to Indonesia using Pencak Silat as a supporter of the Dutch cultural diplomacy.authors collected data from books, journals, media and internet sites attempt to analyze the use of Pencak Silat in Indonesia as a form of cultural diplomacy use of soft power against the Dutc. Cultural diplomacy is part of the concept of soft power in international relations. The main purpose of cultural diplomacy is to gain influence on public opinion. This research concluded that because Pencak Silat can penetrate the culture in the Netherlands with three diplomatic channels: sports, arts and culture and education, the Pencak Silat is used as a means of supporting cultural diplomacy Indonesia against the Dutch.
