Abstract:
Botryosphaeria rhodina is one of the endophytic fungi that can be found in areas with
tropical and subtropical climates. Several studies have reported that this endophytic
fungus has biological activities such as antimicrobial and antiseptic. However, not many
studies have reported its antioxidant activity. The goal of this study was to determine the
antioxidant activity of n-hexane extract and methanol extract of B. rhodina. Based on the
antioxidant test using the DPPH method, it showed that the n-hexane extract had a very
weak antioxidant activity with value of IC50 > 1000 ppm, while the methanol extract with
an IC50 of 363.68 ppm showed weak antioxidant activity when compared to ascorbic acid
but has the potential as an antioxidant. antioxidant-producing substances.
