Abstract:
Mangifera casturi is an endemic mango from South Kalimantan that has
become extinct in the wild and population tends to decrease. Information on the
diversity of Mangifera casturi can be seen molecularly, considering that the Mangifera
casturi is a plant that rarely appears so organs that are often found are incomplete for
morphological analysis. Molecular analysis requires important steps, namely DNA
isolation, because it will determine the quality and quantity of DNA to be used for
further analysis. This study aimed to isolate the total DNA in 3 individual Kasturi
mango plants with the help of a Genomic DNA plant minikit (Genaid). The isolation
results showed that the total DNA of the Kasturi mango was successfully isolated
using an isolation kit. The resulting total DNA has thick bands without smear.
