dc.description.abstract |
Utilization of plant species by Kampar Kiri community includes food, medicine,
and part of traditional ceremonies. Terpenoids are the largest group of all plant
metabolites, and steroids are a class of triterpenoid compounds that are used as basic
ingredients in medicine. This study aims to identify the content of secondary
metabolites of terpenoids and plant steroids used in the culinary and traditional rituals of
Kampar Kiri. Method of this study included sampling, making herbarium, identifying
plant species and analyzing of terpenoid and steroid secondary metabolites. Results
showed that there were 35 plant species generally used for traditional culinary in
Kampar Kiri community and 20 species of which contain terpenoids and 4 species
contain steroids. In addition, 17 plant species contain terpenoids and 6 species contain
steroids which were identified from 26 species of traditional ceremony category plants
in Kampar Kiri District. |
