Abstract:
Weeds are undesirable plants that grow around cultivated plants. The present
study aimed to determine the diversity of weeds in smallholder oil palm plantation
at years seven in Teratak Air Hitam Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan
Singgigi Regency. The research was conducted from December 2020 to May
2021. Method used in this study was a survey technique using purposive sampling
method with 8 plots. Size per plot was 5 m × 5 m. The results of this study found
34 species belonging to 23 families with a total of 11.643 individuals. Three
weeds that has the highest importance value index were Imperata cylindrica
(15.50), Clidemia hirta (11.82), dan Melastoma malabathricum (11.82).
Diversity index obtained in this study was 3.05 with the category of high species
diversity
