Abstract:
Pekanbaru City is one of the areas that still has a population in the range of 7-24 years
in the education, with the status of neither attending school nor dropping out of school,
which should follow mandatory study. This study aims to model and determine the factors
that are thought to affect differences in the educational status of residents of Pekanbaru
City in 2018, which are divided into three categories, namely those who are not attended
school, are still in school, and are no longer in school using multinomial logistic
regression. Based on the parameter testing using the Wald test, it shows that the area
type variable has an effect on the two logit functions obtained. The odd ratio
interpretation show that children who live in rural areas have a tendency to be not
attended school by 37.456 times compared to children who live in urban areas
