Abstract:
This research aim to synthesized zeolite from Maredan natural clay. Clay was
calcination at 7500C for 3 hours after activated by 3M sulfuric acid. Synthesized of
zeolite consisted aging process around 3 hours, and reflux with temperatures
variation of 80oC, 90oC, and 100oC. The synthesized zeolite was characterized
using XRD (X-Ray Diffraction). The dominant type of synthesized zeolite was
sodalite type with each crystal size on temperature of 80oC; 90oC; dan 100oC was
29,53nm; 42,65 nm; 30,19 nm. It can be concluded form this research that the
increasing of temperature affected the number of crystal size, but becoming
decrease at 100oC. This is caused of reflux temperature has reached the optimum
point of crystal growth.
