Abstract:
Tampui (Baccaurea sp.) is a plant that grown well in lowland tropical forests with a wet
microclimate. Tampui can grow in optimal condition of soil moisture and high rainfall.
The purpose of this study was to identify the physical and chemical habitat
characteristics of tampui in the Ghimbo Potai Indigenous Forests. This research was
conducted from November 2019 to April 2020. Survey method was used for this study
and the transects were determined by purposive sampling. The results showed that
tampui population could be found in highland / dry land habitats with a pH range
between 6 – 6,5 and soil temperatures up to 260C. Micro climate conditions such as
temperature, relative humidity, and sunlight intensity were low with slight fluctuation.
Range of temperatures was from 28.40C to 34.20C, while relative humidity around 50,2
to 70,4%. In addition, the intensity of sunlight nearby sago area was around 546 Cd.
