Item UTILIZATION OF TAIWANESE CLAM (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) AS BIOFILTER IN CULTURING SYSTEM OF SILAIS (Ompok hypopthalmus)(2012-10-16) Ramayani, FikaThe research was conducted from April until June 2012 at Aquaculture Technology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The aim of the research was to improve water quality through the biofilter using taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) on culturing system of silais to increase the growth and survival rate of silais (Ompok hypopthalmus). The method used was experimental method and RAL one factor with 3 level of treatments. The treatment with stocking density of 10, 15 and 20 taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) respectively. The result indicated that different stocking density of taiwanese were have significantly effect on water quality (NH3), growth rate and survival rate of silais (Ompok hypopthalmus). The best result was achieved by 20 taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana, Lea). Total absolute body weight of silais was 9.53 grams, daily growth rate of 2,18 % and survival rate of 100%.Item STUDI KONSTRUKSI ALAT TANGKAP JARING INSANG (GILL NET) DI DESA NIPAH SENDANU KECAMATAN TEBING TINGGI TIMUR KEPULAUAN MERANTI PROVINSI RIAU(2012-10-16) ElsafanderThis research was conducted from 6 to 18 Juni 2012 in Nipah Sendanu Villaga, East Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict Meranti Isles Riau Province. The research was aimed to collec information on the construction of Gillnet fishing gear used in Nipah Sendanu Village, East Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict. Gear characteristics were observed and data obtainet to compared to literatures. The method used was survey method. The result of the research indicated that the construction of Gillnet used in Nipah Sendanu Village was the same as the construction of Gillnet in general that consisted of webbing, upper risk line, float line, buoy line, under ris line, sinker line, float, buoy and sinker.Item ASPEK BIOLOGI REPRODUKSI IKAN SELINCA (Belontia hasselti) DI DESA TERANTANG KECAMATAN TAMBANG KABUPATEN KAMPAR PROVINSI RIAU (Reproductive Biological Aspect of Belontia hasselti in the Terantang Aquatic at Tambang, Kampar District, Riau Province)(2012-10-16) Simanjuntak, Esa FBelontia hasselti is belonged to Belontiade family and commonly inhabit in the flood area in the riverside in Riau. However, information on reproductive biology of this fish is rare. To understand the reproductive biological aspects of this fish, a research has been conducted on February-April 2012. There were 123 fishes (102 males and 21 females) captured and TL is ranged from 52 to146 mm and BW ranged from 2 to 68 gr. The sex ratio of male and female is 5:1. In each sampling time there were fishes with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th maturity level. The Gonado Somatic Index (GSI) is arround 0.01-10.46 %. Fecundity is around 142-10,041 eggs. Relationship between fecundity and TL is weak (r=0.03), while the relationship between fecundity with BW and GW are strong, r=0.99 and r=0.99 respectively. The egg size less various, around 0.98-1.00mm in diameter. However, the maturity stages of eggs in the ovary is various. In the 1st maturity level, the eggs are non vitellogenic with 0.05-0.18mm in diameter. In the 2nd maturity stage, the eggs are bigger 0.15-0.44mm and several eggs are in early vitellogenic stage. In the 3rd maturity level, eggs diameter is arround 0.28-1.95mm and there were several vitellogenic eggs. In the 4th maturity level, most of eggg in the ovary are mature (fully vitellogenic), 0.3-0.5mm in diameter. However, in the ovary of the 4th maturity stage fish, there are many immature eggs. This evidence indicates that B. hasselti may be a “partial spawner” and may spawn their eggs throughout the year.Item CONCENTRATION OF HEAVY METAL PLUMBUM (Pb) AND CUPPRUM (Cu) IN SEAWATER AND SEDIMENT OF BATUBARA COASTAL WATERS NORTH SUMATRA PROVINCE(2012-10-16) Gultom, JefriThis research was conducted on August 2011. Samples of seawater and sediment were collected from Batubara coastal waters, North Sumatra and analyzed for their Pb and Cu concentrations using AAS Perkin Elmer 3110 in Marine Chemistry Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Riau University, Pekanbaru. The results showed that Pb and Cu concentrations in seawater and sediment were higher in station closed to PT Inalum Port (0,82 mg/L and 0,05 mg/L; 13,10 μg/g and 11,24 μg/g) for Pb and Cu in seawater and sediment, respectively than that in other stations. The lowest heavy metal concentration was found in station nearby mangrove area (0,42 mg/L and 0,02; 11,53 μg/g and 6,49 μg/g) for pb and cu in seawater and sediment respectively. Concentrations of Pb and Cu in sediment of Batubara coastal waters were still lower than ERL and ERM values which can be concluded that Batubara coastal waters does not have negative impact to organisms living in the surrounding area.Item Studi Reduksi Urea Pada Daging Ikan Pari (Trygon sephen) dengan Perendaman Dalam Ekstrak Tauge dan Asam Sitrat(2012-10-16) Telaumbanua, Putra Wira Hati SilotoThis research was conducted at the Laboratory of Fish Processing Technology and Food Chemistry Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau, Pekanbaru on April 2012 to May 2012. The research objective was to determine the reduction of urea in ray fish treated with citric acid and bean sprouts extract. Ray fish was taken from a fish market in Pekanbaru. The fish was filleted and grouped into three groups. Each group was depth respectivelly in citric acid 2%, bean sprout extract and distilled water (control) for 30 minutes. The urea concentration, protein and TMA of the fish were evaluated. The results indicated that the ray fish fillet treated with citric acid 2% is the best treatment to reduce the ray fish urea. Urea concentration, protein and TMA of the ray fish fillet treated with citric acid 2% was 0,223 mg/ml, 13,75%, 4,88 mg N/100g respectivelly; ray fish fillet treated with bean sprouts extract was 0,094 mg/ml, 15,229%, 4,976 mg N/100g respectivelly and ray fish fillet treated with distilled water was 2,23%, 5,099 mgN/100 g, 16,642% respectivelly.Item Influnce of cooking time on Quality of boiled catfish (Cryptopterus sp)(2012-10-16) Mature. ViktorThe research was intendead to evaluate the effect of cooking time on Quality of boiled catfish. Catfish weighting 200-300 gram each was taken from a fish market in Pekanbaru. The fish was transported to the laboratory of Fish Processing Technology, and made for boiled catfish. Three boiled catfish were prepared with different cooking time: 45, 60 and 75 minutes. The boiled catfish were evaluated for sensory quality, moisture, bacterial count and total Staphylococcus aureus. The results indicated that the boiled catfish cooked for 60 minutes was the best quality product. The boiled catfish was characterized by moisture 70,374-71,490%, bacterial count 4,62-4,75; and staphylococcus aureus was not identified.Item KOMPOSISI DIATOM EPIPELIK DAN EPIFITIK DI PERAIRAN SUNGAI MESJID KOTA DUMAI PROVINSI RIAU(2012-10-16) Simanihuruk, TolopanThe research was conducted in June 2012 in water the Sungai Mesjid of Dumai City Riau Province. This research aims to describe how the composition of epipelic diatom the sediments and epiphytic on mangrove communities in the water Sungai Mesjid of Dumai City Riau Province and environmental factors that affect it. The data obtained by observation, measurement and sampling in the field, followed by the identification of diatom samples at Integrated Laboratory of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. Total species of epipelic diatom that were consisted of 53 species and 16 species epiphytic diatom.Epipelik diatom species most frequently encountered is Navicula elegans, Navicula membranacea and Nitzschia frigida. While epiphytic diatom species only Rhabdonema arculatum which can be found at all stations. The species is a species that has a high tolerance to various substrates. From the value of diversity index (H '), dominance (D), equability (e) and the measurement of water quality parameters shows that the condition of the waters in the Sungai Mesjid of as whole is still in balance, there is no competition for place nor food and water quality middle level of contamination.Item THE EFFECT OF hCG INJECTION (HUMAN CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN) AT DIFFERENT DOSAGE TOWARD OVULATION AND HATCHING RATE OF SNAKE SKIN GOURAMY (TRICHOGASTER PECTORALIS)(2012-10-16) Batubara, Lenni WahyuniThe research was conducted from July 2011 until January 2012 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of hCG on ovulation and hatching of snake skin gouramy (Trichogaster pectoralis) fish. The hatching dosage of hCG treatment to induce ovulation were 1000 IU/kg,1250 IU/kg, 1500 IU/kg and 1 ml of NaCl 0.9 % as a control respectively, The best dosage of hCG treatment was obtained at dosage 1250 IU/kg of body weight which produced latency period of 4,24 hours, 2) number of ovulated egg 1081, Ovi Somatic Index 6,63%, eggs diameter increment 0,23 mm, fertilization rate 35,61%, Hatching rate 11,09% and survival rate 91,59 %. The temperature ranged from 27-290C and pH was 5.Item Pengaruh Fortifikasi Jumlah Konsentrat Protein Ikan Patin (Pangasius hypopthalmus) Yang Berbeda Pada Tahu Terhadap Tingkat Penerimaan Konsumen(2012-10-16) Manullang, BennyThe research was conducted in April-May 2012. The purposes of the research was to determine the effect of fish protein concentrate on consumer acceptance and nutritional quality of tofu. Fish protein concentrate was prepared from catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus). Three types of tofu were prepared and fortified respectively with 0%, 5% and 10% fish protein concentrate. The product were evaluated for consumer acceptance, nutritional composition ( moisture, protein, fat and ash) and microbiol quality (Aerobic plate count and coliform). The results showed that the product fortified with 10% fish protein concentrate was the most acceptable by consumer. Nutritional compotstion of the product was moisture 85,03%, protein 7,75 %, fat 5,14%, and ash 0,40%, Total aerobic plate count of the product was aerobic plate 3,93 x 105 coloni/g and coliform 7 MPN/g.Item THE EFFECT OF OVAPRIM AND PROSTAGLANDIN (PGF2α) COMBINATION ON OVULATION AND EEG QUALITY OF KISSING GOURAMY (Helostoma temmincki C.V)(2012-10-16) Hardy, M. FikriThis research was done on July 11th until December 25th, 2011 in Fish Breeding Laboratory of Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau Ubiversity, Pekanbaru. Aim of the research was to know the influence of injection combination of ovaprim and prostaglandin for ovulation and eggs quality of kissing gouramy (Helostoma temmincki C.V). The method used was RAL with five treatments and three replications. The treatment were: P1= 50% Ovaprim + 50% PGF2 α (0,35 ml ovaprim + 1250 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight), P2 = 75% Ovaprim + 25% PGF2 α (0,3 ml ovaprim + 625 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight), P3 = 25% Ovaprim + 75% PGF2 α (0,18 ml ovaprim + 1875 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight), P4 = 100% Ovaprim (0,7 ml ovaprim/kg body weight), P5 = 100% μg PGF2 α (2500 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight). The fastest result of latent time was 6,33 (6 hour 20 minutes), amount of eggs ovulation 76,19 eggs/g, egg diameter additional 0,3 mm and egg maturity additional 10,67%.Item Growth and Survival Rate of Silais Fish (Ompok hypopthalmus) with Different Stocking Density Combining with Crayfish (Cherax albertisii)(2012-10-29) Nurhayati, UmiThe research was conducted from April to May 2012, at Aquaculture Technology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research was to investigate the growth and survival rate of silais fish (Ompok hypopthalmus) with different stocking density combining with crayfish (Cherax albertisii), to provide information of policulture activity of silais and crayfish in order to cultivate in limitid area. The silais fish used in this study was 180 fish with size of 5-6 cm and crayfish measuring about 4-5 cm by 45. Feed used in the form pellets 903 by feeding 3 times a day. The methods used in this study was an experimental method and RAL one factor with 3 level of treatments. Treatments of this study were P1 (15 silais and 5 crayfish), P2 (20 silais and 5 crayfish) and P3 (25 silais and 5 crayfish). The best result was achieved by P1 with stocking density of 15 silais and 5 crayfish. Total absolute body weight of silais was 11.73 grams, growth rate 8.13 cm, daily growth rate of 5.00 % and survival rate of 97.78 %. Whereas total absolute body weight of crayfish was of 1.89 gram, growth rate 1.11 grams, daily growth rate of 1.70 % and survival rate of 60 %.Item The effects of tyroxine hormone on the growth and survival rate of motan (Thynnicthys thynnoides Blkr)(2012-10-29) Putra, Sukendi; YurismanThis research aim, to understand the effect of tyroxine hormone on the grwth and survival rate of motan fish (Thynnichthys thynnoides Blkr). The experiment used four treatments as following : B1 = tyroxine hormone 2 mg/kg of fish diet, B2 = tyroxine hormone 4 mg/kg of fish diet, B3 = tyroxine hormone 6 mg/kg of fish diet and B4 = tyroxine hormone 0 mg/kg of fish diet. Fishes were reared for 4 months and they were fed on fish pellet, 3 times/day. Results show that the best results was treatment B3 = tyroxine hormone 6 mg/kg of fish diet with absolute growth weight 9,23 g, daily growth rate 0,6234 %, absolute growth length 2,63 cm and survival rate 73 %.Item Fisherman Motivation To The Effort of Nila (Oreochromis niloticus) Cultivation In Sibanganding Village, District, Simalungun regency, Nort Sumatera Province.(2012-10-29) Pardede, Juwita MonalisThe research was conducted From Maret 2012 at sibanganding village, girsang Sipangan Bolon District, Simalungun regency, Nort Sumatera Province. Entirety motivational level conducting of fish amount 2217, thereby score motivational as a whole reside in category. 2).View, hope relationship with motivation hare the value is rs= 0,754** and rs = 0.793 **, it’s mean relation between views, hope motivation pertained the strength and unidirectional, have the character of very significant posed at with value P(0,00) < α (0,05). 3). Relationships with motivational beliefs have value rs = 0.522 * means no correlation is less strong or in other words the significance of the relationship is indicated with P value (0.018) <α (0.05).Item Peran kajian kemampuan dan tingkah laku renang ikan baung (Hemibagrus sp) untuk teknologi penangkapan ikan dan usaha budidaya(2012-10-30) Nofrizal; Ahmad, MuchtarSwimming speed and endurance of baung (Hemibagrus sp)(FL = 16.13 ±1.14 cm) observed in swimming channel. Swimming speed has negative correlation to the endurance time. The endurance time was decreased when the swimming speed increased. Sustained swimming speed was less than 2.5 BL/s, corresponded to 40.3 cm/s and burst swimming speed was up to 10.5 BL/s, corresponded to 169.4 cm/s. Prolonged swimming speed was 2.5-10.5 BL/s (40.3-169.4 cm/s). Sustained swimming speed are recommended for fish-farming in aquaculture cage. Burst swimming speed was illustrated swimming speed of fish to escape and avoid the gear in capture process.Item Pengaruh Penggunaan Asap Cair Yang Berbeda Terhadap Mutu Ikan Patin ( Pangasius hypopthalmus) Asap Selama Penyimpanan Pada Suhu Kamar(2012-10-31) Siregar, Mara TagorTujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan asap cair yang berbeda terhadap mutu ikan patin asap selama penyimpanan pada suhu kamar. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Perikanan, Mikrobiologi -Bioteknologi Hasil Perikanan dan Kimia Hasil Perikanan, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Riau-Pekanbaru. Berat rata-rata ikan 275±25 gram yang diperoleh dari Kolam Budidaya di jalan Kualu Pekanbaru. Proses pengasapan menggunakan larutan asap cair yang berbeda yaitu larutan asap cair tempurung kelapa, larutan asap cair kasar kayu laban dan larutan asap cair destilasi kayu laban. Pengamatan untuk uji kualitas ikan asap yaitu dengan organoleptik, analisa kadar air, bilangan peroksida, pengamatan jamur dan analisa bakteri staphylococcus sp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan asap cair yang berbeda mampu mempertahankan mutu ikan patin asap selama penyimpanan 28 hari dengan perlakuan larutan asap cair destilasi kayu laban (L2) merupakan perlakuan terbaik dilihat dari nilai organolpetik, nilai kadar air dan bakteri Staphylococcus sp, sedangkan pertumbuhan jamur tidak ditemukan dan tidak ada nilai bilangan peroksida.Item Maintenance Juveniles of Freshwater Crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) Using Biofilter Kijing Taiwan (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) With System of Recirculation(2012-11-05) Fakhraini, YunidaThe purpose of the research is to improving the quality of water through biofilter by using kijing taiwan (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) on the maintenance of a lobster to increase the rate of growth and survival rate juvenil of freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus). This research was conducted from April to June 2012 in the Aquaculture Technology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University.The method used was experiment, with 3 factors and 3 replications. The treatment with density 30, 50 and 70 juveniles/0,06 m3. The growth data were analysed using ANAVA. The best result of experiment showed on growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate and survival rate were obtained in 50 juveniles/0,06 m3 3.05 g, 1.79 cm, 1.99% and 75.33%.Item Keragaman Fitoplankton di Perairan Danau Singkarak, Jorong Ombilin Rambatan Sub-Regency, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Provinsi Sumatera Barat(2012-11-09) Hayati, YaserliThe research was conducted in April-Mei 2012 in Lake Singkarak Jorong Ombilin Tanah Datar District of West Sumatera Province. Types of phytoplankton are found during the research in Jorong Ombilin consisted of four classes, and (15 types), namely the class Bacillariophyceae (3 types), class Chlorophyceae (8 types), class Cyanophyceae (3 types) and the class Xanthophyceae (1 types). Abundance values of phytoplankton in the waters of Lake Singkarak Jorong Ombilin, ranging from 2107 – 2935 cell/l, diversity index (H’) around 1,920 – 2,356. Phytoplankton species dominancy index (C) around 0,105 – 0,159 and equitability index (E) around 0,912 – 0,977. General water quality parameter are follow: temperature 270C – 290C, pH 6, dissolved O2 : 4,17 mg/l – 4,63 mg/l, CO2 9,38 mg/l – 13,54 mg/l, Nitrate : 0,0054 mg/l – 0,0107 mg/l and phosphate : 0,0204 mg/l – 0,0513 mg/l. Based on the diversity of species diversity is to have a different distribution of phytoplanktonItem SENSITIVITAS LARUTAN SIRIH MERAH (Piper crocatum) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Edwardsiella tarda(2012-11-13) Sustri, LositaThis research was conducted from October to November 2011 at the Laboratory of Fish Quarantine Station Class I airports Sutan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru and Parasites And Fish Disease Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The aim of a research is to know the effect of red betel solution (Piper crocatum) concentration to the growth of Edwarsiella tarda and cat fish (Pangasius sutchi) survival. The method that had been used was experimental method with dose: P0; 0 g / l, P1, 3 g / l, P2, 5 g / l, P3, and 7 g / l. The results showed the concentration of red betel 7 g / l produce clear zone average 14.33 mm, a concentration of 5 g / l on average 12.6 mm while the concentration of 3 g / l and 0 g / l didn’t produce any clear zone at all. Between treatments P2 and P3 give significantly different results with the treatment P0 and P1 (P <0.05). The LD50 test using probit analysis obtained the best dose of 6.067 g / l.Item Distribution of Barnacle (Balanus spp) on The Pole of Harbour PT. Persero Indonesia Sibolga North Sumatera(2012-11-22) Lumban Gaol, DonaldA Study on the distribution and abundance of biofouling, Barnacles (Balanus spp) were conducted in May 2012. The objective of the study was to find out and analyze the distribution of the barnacle in relation to currents, depth of water. It revealed that current velocity affected the abundance in that greater current velocity brought about lower abundance. It addition, the abundance of Barnacles (Balanus spp) were higher on the subsurface compared to that on the above surface of water. This differences were due to food supply and duration of filtering activity of Barnacles (Balanus spp).Item ASPEK BIOLOGI REPRODUKSI IKAN BUJUK (Channa lucius) di PERAIRAN RAWA BANJIRAN SUNGAI TAPUNG A study on reproductive biology of Channa lucius captured in the flood areas of the Tapung River, Riau Province(2012-11-26) Situmeang, LidyaChanna lucius is a high economic valued fish that commonly inhabit swamp waters. As there is limited biological aspect information available, a study aims to understand reproductive biological aspects of this fish has been conducted on February – April 2012. Fish samples were caught using trap and line fishing gear. There were 40 fishes, consisted of 24 females and 16 males, 200 -330 mm SL and 4,79 - 5,97 gram weight. Sex ratio of females and males was 1:1,5. The GSI of mature males 0,02%-1,02% and that of the females were 0,16%-2,99%. Fecundity ranged from 1,592-1,907 eggs/ fish, with mature egg diameter ranged from 1.40-1.70 mm. Microscopic study of the ovarian structure showing that the ovary of the mature females consisted of eggs in several maturity levels, namely non vitellogenic, early vitellogenic and vitellogenic, indicates that this fish may be a partial spawner. The testes of males showing mature sperms throughout the study period, indicates this fish may be able to spawn throughout the year.
