Item Beberapa Penurunan Metode Integrasi Numerik: Aturan Simpson(2017-11-14) Muhammad, ImranWe discussed some derivations of Simpson rule formulas that are not commonly discussed in numerical analysis texts. The derivation involved a Lagrange interpolating polynomial, and a quadratic polynomial analytically and a combination of trapezoidal rule and midpoint rule, and a combination trapezoidal rule analytically and numerically. Analysis of convergence shows that the new method is cubically convergent for a simple root and linearly for multiple roots. The method requires one function evaluation and two of its first derivative, but no evaluations of its second derivative. The method is known as predictor corrector method. The method has been tested in series of published examples.
