Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyse the framework of an equipment created to inform the amount of electricity used by customer to National Electricity Company (PLN) through telephone line. The method used in the research is a method which design a circuit of logic to tone converter to be decimal numbers through telephone network. The result of the study shows that using this equipment may replace the manual record carried out by PLN personnel. The amount of electricity utilized by customer is recorded by the equipment and is sent through telephone line. This research also shows that data produced by logic to tone converter are transmitted at the same time as clock pulse to shift register. As a result, data received by shift register may not be accurate. To overcome this problem, several delay times to impede clock pulse are needed. This study demonstrate that the design of the telephone line KWH reader equipment worked consistent with the framework
