Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to know increase in student learning outcomes in
Problem Based Instruction (PBI) Implementation Project and experiment with
methods. The subjects were students of class VIII SMP 3 XIII Koto Kampar,
amounting to 43 people. This research is a form of True Experrimental. The research
was conducted by the research Randomized control-group pretest-posttest design.
Data collection instrument in this study is a formative test 32 items. Data collection
technique is based on the correct answer of 32 items. Data were analyzed through
descriptive analysis and obtained an average increase student learning outcomes PBI
model with project methods 31.25, a standard deviation of 1.23 and PBI models with
experimental methods 37, 30, a standard deviation of 1.02. It can be concluded that
the implementation of PBI models with experimental methods is better than the
model with the PBI method in class VIII SMP Project 3 XIII Koto Kampar.
