STRUKTUR HATI IKAN SELAIS (Ompok hypophthalmus Bleeker, 1846) DI PERAIRAN SUNGAI SIAK KOTA PEKANBARU

Abstract

The research on liver structure of Selais fish (Ompok hypophthalmus Bleeker, 1846) from Siak River Pekanbaru was conducted to find out the condition of liver tissue. The result sampling was conducted from November 2012 to May 2013. Histologic specimen of baung fish liver was prepared using paraffin method and stained with Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE). Data from macroscopic and microscopic observations were analyzed descriptively. Result from macroscopic observation showed that the liver of Selais fish from Siak River has two lobes that is left and right lobe a yellowish red. The result microscopic observation showed that the liver tissue experienced congestion, fatty liver, cell swelling and lysis. As conclusion, this case happen because is influenced by the condition of water pollution from the Siak river that have accumulated heavy metals.
