Abstract:
The research on the application Problem Solving model is conducted at XI IPA
class of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru which is apllied on colloidal topic in
2013. The research is an experiment with pretest-posttest design. The sample
consisted of two classes, named class XI IPA3 as the experiment class and the
class XI IPA4 as a class control. Experiment class treated applied with problem
solving model, while the control class was treated to as convensional. Data
analysis technique used the t-test. The result of research showed tarithmetic

(4.97 > 1.67) and n-gain is 0,71. It is high category. It means the application
Problem Solving model can to increase learning achievement on colloidal topic at
XI IPA class of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru
