Abstract
The problem in this study is the low learning result IPS fourth grade students of SDN 016 Bukit
Timah Kota Dumai. To overcome these problems, the researchers apply cooperative learning
model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The purpose of this research is to improve the learning
result of the fourth grade students of SDN IPS 016 Bukit Timah Dumai with the application of
cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together. This type of research is Classroom Action
Research (CAR) conducted three cycles. Data collection instrument in this study is teacher
observation sheet, observation sheets and tests students' daily tests at the end of the cycle. On the
basis of the average score of student learning result has increased to 63.33 daily test results of the
first cycle achieves an average score of 70.67 with an increase of the daily tests to first base as
much as 11.5%, then the average value of replications Daily cycles II also has risen by an average
value of 77.83 be increased from basic to daily test scores as much as 22.8% II. While the average
value of daily test cycle III also has risen by an average value of 85.33 with an increase of the
daily test scores to third base as much as 34.7%. Activities of teachers in the first cycle the first
meeting with the percentage of 66.7%, a second meeting later increased to 70.8%. In the second
cycle the first meeting with the percentage of 79.7%, the second meeting increased to 83.3%. In
the third cycle of the first meeting with a percentage of 87.5%, a second meeting later increased to
91.7%. Activities of students in the first cycle the first meeting with a percentage of 50%, a second
meeting later increased to 58.3% . In the second cycle the first meeting with the percentage of
70.8%, the second meeting increased to 75%. In the third cycle of the first meeting with the
percentage of 83.3%, a second meeting later increased to 91.7%. Conclusions obtained from this
study that by applying a type of learning Numbered Heads Together (NHT) to improve learning
result IPS fourth grade students at SDN 016 Bukit Timah Dumai.
