Abstract
The aim of this research is to identify some factors that influence nurse’s behavior to infection prevention of postoperative wound in lower extremities of surgical patients at Arifin Achmad hospitals on 2013. The research used correlative descriptive with cross sectional approach as its design. The sample of this research was 73 nurses who are working at Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau province. The analysis used was univariate using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using chi-square test. Based on the statistical test (chi-square) results, it is concluded that there is no significant between level of knowledge with prevention infection wound of postoperative surgery with p value=1,000, there is no significant between action with prevention infection wound of postoperative surgery with p value=1,000, and also there is no significant between attitude with prevention infection wound of postoperative surgery with p value=0,922. By the result of this research, it is expected that there is any improvement from education and training for the nurses to minimize the infection transmission of postoperative wound in lower extremities of surgical patients at Arifin Achmad Hospital of Riau Province on 2013.
