Abstract
This research is Classroom Action Research with the aim to increasethe mathematics learning
outcome of the students on the class II SD Negeri 122Pekanbaru by applying PMR approach. This
research was conducted on second semester from January 2013 until May 2013. The subject of
this research are the students on the class II SD Negeri 122 Pekanbaru with amount 31 people,
consist of 19 male students and 12 female students. The lowering of student’s learning outcome is
because during the time teacher rare to use concrete objects in giving the examples related to
student’s world daily so that students demotivate to learn. This thesis serve the result of student
learning test shows the increase which mean through applying PMR approach. The form of this
research is Classroom Action Research, consist of two cycles. Instruments of the research
including peripheral of study (Syllabus, RPP, LKS) and also teacher and students observa tion
sheets. Result of the research shows that learning outcome and teacher and students activities
increased. Mean of students learning outcome in cycle I was 72,74 with 21 students completed
with complete percentage 67,74% increased in cycle II become 82,25 with 27 students completed
with complete percentage 87,09%. Teacher’s activities in cycle I with medium category increased
in cycle II become good category. Student’s activities in cycle I with medium category increased in
cycle II become good category. It can be concluded that applying of PMR approach can increase
the mathematics learning outcome of the students on the class II SD Negeri 122Pekanbaru.
