Abstract

Application of guided inquiry approach using a mind map has been implemented in SMAN 1 Benai on the hidrocarbon subject. The research purposes to increase student’s achievement. Form of research is a experiment research with pretest-postest design. X 2 dan X 3 as sample class after test of normality and test of homogeneity. Homogeneity test result, F Count < F tabel (1,07 < 1,77 with = 0,05, dk(34,35) ) that mean sample have the same variance. Techniques of data analysis is the t–test. Final data processing using the t-test formula obtained t count > t table (2,32 > 1,67 with dk=n 1 +n2 -2 and =0,05) had mean aplication of guided inquiry approach using a mind map give effect of 7,24% to increase student’s achievement.
