Abstract

This research is part of a study entitled “The Use of Local Trichoderma Biological Agents of Riau as Biofertilizer and Biopestisides in PHT to Control the Disease and Increase Rice Production“. The objective of this research to determine the effect and the ability of rice straw trichocompost with various stater of Trichoderma spp to control stem rot disease and blast disease in rice (Oryza sativa L.). This study was conducted consisting of laboratory and field experiments from July until December 2011. Experimental study was conducted using completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Each experimental unit consisted of four plants grown in a pot. The treatments were application of trichocompost with various stater Tricoderma spp to control stem rot disease and blast disease in rice include: T0=Without trichocompost, T1=Trichocompost pseudokoningii, T2=Trichocompost harzianum, T3=Trichocompost koningii, and T4=Trichocompost viride. The data is analyzed by using the Analysis of Variance (ANNOVA) and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The results showed that the use of trichocompost started by Trichoderma spp not able to control stem rot disease in rice . Using the trichocompost pseudokoningii and trichocompost harzianum tend to be better in slowing the incubation period and reduce the attacks intensity of blast disease on rice in comparison with the use of trichocompost koningii, trichocompost viride and without giving trichocompost.
