Abstract
This study of the Japanese refusal speech act, which aims to find out the
speech act of rejection by the language is Japanese and politeness strategies. The
methods used in this research is descriptive method. In analyzing the data, the
authors analyze every conversation containing the speech act of rejection is taken
from various sources.
The results showed that the shape of the Japanese reject speech act is
associated with politeness done in various ways, namely by using range polite,
lengthen utterances denial, refusing indirectly influential in the course of
communication.
