Abstract:
The purposes of this research are to know about 1) description of career problems and
students’s job that their parents are laborers in the tenth grade before getting group
guidance. 2) description of career problems and students’s job that their parents are
laborers in the tenth grade after getting group guidance. 3) the differences between
career problem and students’s job before and after doing group guidance. and 4) the
influence of group guidance for decrease career problems and student’s job that their
parents work as a laborer. The population in this research were all students of
laborers’s children class X 1, X 5, X 7, X 9 in SMA 10 Pekanbaru, and the total of
sample is 20 people with technique of "purposive sampling". The method used was a
quasi experiment One Group: one group pre-test and posttest design.To know about
career problem and students’s job that their parents work as a laborer used
questionnaires. Analyze datas was conducted using percentage statistical techniques, to
difference career problem and students’s job before and after getting group guidance
used "t" test. Of calculations "t" test obtained tcalculation is bigger than ttable
(20.17>
2.042) at level 5%. Therefore Ho is rejected and Ha accepted, which means there is a
difference before and after doing group guidance for career problem and students’s job
that their parents work as a laborer class X in SMA 10 Pekanbaru school year
2012/2013. Then from the calculation of the product moment r = 0.61 determinant
coefficient r

= 0.37. Thus it can be seen, the influence of group guidance decrease
career problems and student’s job that their parents work as a laborer class X SMA 10
Pekanbaru school year 2012/2013 is low, that is 37%. Based on the results of research
conducted, it can be concluded after conducted group guidance, career problems and
student’s job that their parents work as a laborer class X there is a decrease
