Abstract:
The background of this research
seen from the number of reading ability has not reached tingkt reading skills
development in accordance with the characteristics of the child at the age. The
purpose of this research is to improve the reading skills of children aged 5-6
years through the model-based learning and to see sebara PAIKEM effective use
PAIKEM-based learning model in improving the reading skills of children aged
5-6 years. This type of research is a form of experiment. Data collection is taken
through pre-test and post-test values. The number of samples in this study were 26
children consisting of 13 girls and 13 men. Assessment in this study, consistent in
measuring the reading skills of children, before and after the treatmen.
Hypothesis of this study is an increase in reading skills in children aged 5-6 years
in TK Islam Al-Karimah Pekanbaru after PAIKEM awarded based learning
model. From the research result that the average reading ability (BI) was only
5.38%, but after the treatment was given for 3 days the average reading ability of
B1 grade increased to 8.85% and thus this hypothesis can be accepted. From
these results it can be concluded, there is significant in the model-based learning
PAIKEM to improving reading skills of children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten
Islam Al-Karimah Pekanbaru. From these results, the authors suggest to the
teachers to use and implement PAIKEM-based learning model. To improve the
