Abstract

The rationale of this research was based on a reflection that most students, 27 students (77,1%), were not able to accomplish writing descriptive and there were only 8 students (22,8%) who could accomplish the assignment. In this research, researcher formulated the research question into “Is the implementation of Constructivism Learning Model Able to Improve Writing Skill on Descriptive at the five Grade of SDN 183 Pekanbaru?”. This research aimed at improving writing skill on Descriptive by using Constructivism Learning Modelat the five Grade of SDN 183 Pekanbaru. The method of this research was classroom action research applying the learning model to 35 participants. This research was conducted on October 2012. Before conducting the research, students’ mean score was 56,4 in which there were only 8 students (22,8%) who could accomplish the passing grade, 70 to according standart KKM. After conducting the research, it was found that students’ mean score, in the first cycle, improved at 68,5 (54,2%). It meant that 19 students’ could accomplish writing descriptive. In the second cycle, it was found that students’ mean score improved at 84.5. It meant that students’ accomplisment reach (91,4%) in which 32 participants passed the passing grade. In conclusion, the implementation of Constructivism learning model was able to improve Writing Skill on Descriptive at the Five Grade of SDN 183 Pekanbaru. In other words, the hypothesis of this research would be the implementation of Constructivism learning model was accepted.
