Abstract:
The research was conducted from April until June 2012 at Soil and Water Quality
Management Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The aim
of the reseeu-ch was to know effect of CaCOs lime to the pond bottom soil of chemical
fertility and the water quality. The method used was experiment and randomized block
designs with 1 factor is CaCOalime, with 5 level of treatments doses of CaCOslime from 0
g/m , 6.67 g/m^, 56.00 g/m^, 112.00 g/m^, and 168.00 g/m^, and 2 groups is new pond age (0-
4 years old) and old pond age (5-10 years old).
The result indicated that the some doses of CaCOalime to increase in pH soil pond
ageO-4 years and 5-10 years is 168.00 g/m^ (P4). These conditions resulted to increase inthe
initial pHrange from5.0-5.8to6.7-7.1, C-organic about 0.75%, N-total of approximately
0. 07%, KPK approximately3.2 to 3.8me/100g, C/N ratioaroundlO.O to 11.1. Thewater quality
improvementin bothage groupsoccurred frompH 5.7to 7.7, increase inturbidity, hardness,
increase inthe dissolved oxygenat pond age5-10 years old andconcentration ofhitratein
thepondage ofD-4 years old.
