Abstract

This research aims to determine the bacterial diversity in phytoremediation T. angustifolia rhizosphere were given palm oil wastewater and carried out from July to December 2012. Constructed Treatment Wetland (CTW) model of Free Water Surface (FWS) type was used to investigation, which is a class of horizontal wetlands where the water flows over the land surface of the inlet to the outlet. The device consisted of 4 basin connected by pipe and in series. Furthermore, palm oil wastewater flow into each basin containing the plant T. angustifolia, in the following order: (A) Palm oil wastewater pass basin 1, (B) Palm oil wastewater pass basin 2 (C) Palm oil wastewater pass basin 3 (D) Palm oil wastewater pass basin 4. The parameter studies that measured the total number of bacteria rhizosphere, the number of bacteria Actinomycetes, Azospirillum, and Nitrosomonas. Analysis of the initial number of bacteria in phytoremediation T. angustifolia rhizosphere were given palm oil wastewater was found 2,73×105 bacterial CFU/mL. There was an increase after exposure palm oil wastewater on the total number of bacteria rhizosphere an average of 2,12×109 CFU/mL, the Actinomycetes 1,53×108 CFU/mL and Azospirillum 5,88×106 CFU/mL. While the number of Nitrosomonas group found in very small amounts of less than 9 MPN/mL. The results used as a source of learning as student worksheets, particularly an understanding of describing bacteria for high school students.
