Abstract
Purpose of this research is to improve achievement math class VIIIB SMP Islam Al Muhsinin Rimba Melintang through cooperative learning STAD model type, the subject matter straight triangular prism and a triangular pyramid. This research is done in class VIIIB SMP Islam Al Muhsinin Rimba Melintang. Research subject is class VIIIB SMP Islam Al Muhsinin Rimba Melintang, which consists of 20 students all of which are female. Form of research is a class act. Model used in this study is the type of cooperative learning model STAD. Research was conducted in two cycles consisting of first cycle and second cycle of each of the three meetings and the daily tests. Of the results of studies using that using cooperative learning type STAD improve student achievement, it is shown in the number of students who achieve a score of 65 on the basis of 9 students (45%), increase in first cycle 13 students (65%), and increased again in second cycle to 14 students (70%), using a type of cooperative learning can improve achievement STAD class VIIIB Smp Islam Al Muhsinin Rimba Melintang the subject matter straight triangular prism and a triangular pyramid in the second semester of academic year 2011 / 2012.
