dc.description.abstract The objectives of mathematics education at its core is that the students are able to use or apply the mathematics learned in everyday life and in learning. knowledge is possessed abilities of students receiving learning experiences in the form of numbers or scores of test results after the learning process done. So the result is the ability to learn mathematics possessed or achieved by students after participating in learning activities that are expressed in the form of a score or numbers. The research aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of realistic mathematics education in the fourth grade Chart 024 Bagan Barat District Bangko Rokan Hilir half even the academic year 2011/2012 on the subject matter fraction. Form the research to be conducted is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) Collaborative, where researchers will collaborate with teachers in doing research. Action taken in this study is a direct instructional model. The research was conducted in two cycles, with details of First Instance cycle consists of two meetings and one-time daily tests. The second cycle consisted of two meetings with one test. The data collected in this study are data about the activities of students and teachers during the learning process and student learning outcome. Data on the activities of teachers during the learning process is collected using observation sheets. Data on students' mathematics learning outcomes after the learning process is collected using achievement test. From the results of this study concluded an increase in the frequency of students who achieve KKM after and before action. The action based on the discussion above, it can be concluded that the hypothesis can be accepted as true, namely through the implementation of realistic mathematics education can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes SDN 024 Bagan Barat academic year 2011/2012 on the subject matter fractions. en_US
