Abstract:
Liquid waste slaughtering house (RPH) containing a high concentration of
organic matter, suspended solids and colloidal materials such as fats, proteins, and
cellulose. If directly discharged into the water can cause problems for aquatic
organisms. It is necessary for processing.
The purpose of this research is to reduce the concentration of suspended
solids (TSS) and dissolved solids (TDS) in wastewater slaughter cows Pekanbaru.
Decrease in the concentration of TSS and TDS performed with anaerobic-aerobic
biofilter system mediated plastic bottle containing a piece of scrap plastic and
without media (control). Anaerobic-aerobic biofilter performance of media has
been very good. This is evident from TSS concentrations decreased effectiveness
of the first observation to observation of the 5 ranges between 76.29 to 90.34%.
While the decline in the effectiveness of TDS concentrations ranged from 71.58 to
86.88%.
In addition, the performance of the anaerobic-aerobic biofilter without
media also showed decreased concentrations of TSS and TDS. It's just lower than
the decrease effectiveness of media biofilter. Effectiveness of TSS concentrations
decreased during the five observation times ranged from 38.78 to 52.88% and a
decrease in the effectiveness of TDS concentrations ranged from 32.43 to 43.42%.
Further testing of farmed fish survival rate with processed wastewater biofilter
mediated high enough. Survival rate jambal reached 97%, 80% tilapia and carp
37%. While survival rate with processed wastewater biofilter without media, all
the fish test are dying.
