Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to investigate to determine the characteristics of Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) in the Pekanbaru city and to determine what factors encourage took a job as a Sales Promotion Girl (SPG). This study uses qualitative research was conducted at the location of the EO and EO Tio House W & B Production Pekanbaru, responders making process used by purposive random sampling of respondents are taking 17 people on purpose with a particular ktiteria. To collect data from the respondents used the method of interview and observation. Once the data is collected and then processed and analyzed using qualitative analysis model.
The results showed that while the characteristics of Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) in the city of Pekanbaru is a beautiful coed and look attractive as well as students who have good communication skills.
Factors that encourage student took a job as a Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) is a factor of independence and interests. Independence shown by adolescents to behave as he wishes, make their own decisions, able to account for their own behavior. Interest and aptitude, interest is a preference that drives a person to perform an activity in a high frequency compared to other types of activities. Overall conclusions about the factors that drive student work as SPG in this study was not caused by economic factors. But due to the socio-cultural, socio-cultural factors lead to the kind of work done by what is appropriate adolescent girls.
