ABSTRACT
This research aimed at improving students learning outcomes in teaching and learning process at SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru by implementing cooperative learning model of Think Pair Square in mathematics lesson. this study uses classroom research. it was conducted in two cycles. the activity and students learning outcomes data were gained by collecting activity data by using observation sheet and daily test. The data which were collected were score which descriptive analyzed statistically. The result of study in the first cycles found that the percentage of students who achieve KKM is 40% and the second cycles is 72.5%, an increase from before the measures the percentage is only 27.5%, and the award based on the first cycles of ten teams awarded great team, while in the second cycles of six team awarded great team and four team awarded super team. the conclusion of the study showed that the implementing of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Square could improving students learning outcomes mathematic.
